How The Sauces Work Together
Every sauce works alone. Together, they're a whole different thing.
Before Superlova came in jars, we served fresh Dan Dan noodles from our noodle stand in LA. The crowd favorite wasn't made with one sauce — it was made with three. When we bottled the recipe, we found that liquid soy sauce and creamy sesame paste don't age well together in the same jar, so we kept them separate. Here's how they come back together.
The three sauces

Dan Dan Chili Sesame Sauce
Rich, creamy, and deeply savory, with a spicy kick. Our richest sauce and the one most people meet us with first.

May May Creamy Sesame Sauce
Creamy, mellow, and nut-free — the same comforting sesame flavor, without any spice at all.

Pei Pei Chili Soy Sauce
Bright, tangy, and light, finished with the tingle of green Sichuan peppercorn. Built to cut through and wake up whatever it touches.
Two ways to pair them

Dan Dan + Pei Pei — The Original
Dan Dan's richness balanced by Pei Pei's brightness, in one bowl. This is the exact combination we served at the noodle stand, now the closest thing to that original bowl we can bottle.

May May + Pei Pei — The Milder Version
Same layered method as the original pairing, just without the heat. Swap May May in for Dan Dan and you get the same complete, balanced bowl for palates that want flavor without spice.
Why this matters at the shelf
Once a customer understands that the sauces are designed to pair, they stop buying one jar and start buying two. It's a built-in upsell with no new SKU, no new packaging, and no added cost — just a story worth telling at the point of sale.
